3.01 H – Accessibility to Meters
Accessibility to Meter: The Office Manager will report to the Board monthly the meters that are inaccessible because of weeds, junk, and other debris. A letter will be mailed to the customer, and a phone call to the customer will be made to require a clean-up of the area on and around the meter. This mean the lid must be cleared to 6 inches outside the perimeter of it and lid fully visible. If this is not completed within fifteen-days of the letter and the phone call, a fine of $50.00 will be added to the following months bill. The water operator will attempt to clean it. However, meters that are not accessible will require contracted excavation The water district will bill the customer it’s actual expense of excavation. Water service will be disconnected if the meter is not accessible and/or the charge is not paid within twenty-five days after the date of the bill.
3.07 – Water Deposit Fees
Water Deposits:
A) Non-Owners (Renters): When any application is made for water services on or after 11/8/2022, in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter (if the applicant is not the record owner of the property for which services are requested), they shall deposit with their application the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for water service.
B) Owners (homeowners, residential): When any application is made for water services on or after 11/8/2022, in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter for homeowners, they shall deposit with their application the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for water service.
C) Commercial Businesses: When any application is made for water services on or after 11/8/2022, in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter for a commercial business, they shall deposit with their application the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for water service.
D) Security for Payment – No Interest: The deposit made under the provisions of this Chapter shall be held by the Water District as security for the payment of water used by the applicant upon the premises to which their application pertains and may also be applied when any default is made in the payment of the water bill in accordance with this Chapter. All interest shall belong to the Water District and no interest shall belong to the customer.
