MINUTES: NOVEMBER 11, 1975 PRESLEY TOUR’S BUILDING MAKANDA ILLINOIS
At 4:30 P.M. the meeting was called to order by the chairman, Wayman Presley. Wayman reported there are 191 users to date.
Mr. C. I. Ryoo, representative for R. A. Nack and Associates, reports: Item #1, 98% of the water line completed and that a partial payment of $13,627.59 be presented for payment to L. D. Fern Construction Company. Item #2, Water Storage Tank is only 54% complete and suggest they get on the ball. A part payment of $7,737.45 be presented for review and approval.
George, a representative of Security Tank said his company will agree to paint the tank one color (yellow) at no additional cost and possibly the smiling face can be painted at no additional cost. Motion was made by Bette Casey that the TANK be painted LEMON YELLOW with or without the face, seconded by C. R Dusch. Motion carried.
Item #3, Mr. Ryoo reports that 75% of the over all construction has been completed, that R. A. Nack and Associates by paid $2706.30 as of October 31. He further suggests an estimate of $50,000.00 is needed for the next pay period.
Motion was made by C. R. Dusch that the bills be paid in said amounts, seconded by Dan McGuire. Motion carried and so authorized that the Secretary/Treasurer, William Walters to pay as presented.
Mr. Walters informed the board of his moving out of the water district. Motion was made by Dan McGuire, seconded by H. B. Hartline Sr., Mr. Walters be retaine3d as Secretary/Treasurer of Buncombe Water Board.
The Security Tank representative was informed by all present of the slowness on the tank erection and the laxness in job performance. Mr. Hammel reiterates the conflict with Security Tank and that the job performance is not satisfactory. All are reminded of the completion date of February 19, 1976. George assured us that water will be in the tank by December 1, 1975. There is a disagreement between R. A. Nack and Security Tank is job performance of 25%.
Mr. Hammel suggests: Accounts and billing system be under way – maintenance man should run the water lines to check for leaks – maintenance man should be someone capable of setting new lines – possible license plumber – class C operator – these suggestions made in order to insure the water district of efficient operations once under way.
