Emergency Meeting Minutes of July 17, 1992
Mr. Jumps, Vice Chairman, called an emergency meeting at 12:00 noon on July 17, 1992. The roll was called by Mr. Jumps: Present were Trustees Ms. Cathie Hutcheson, Mrs. Frances Youngblood, Mr. Maurice Betts, Mr. Arthur Vincent, Mr. Stanley Hollister, and Mr. Richard Jumps.
Mr. Jumps stated that the reason for the emergency meeting was because of the resignation of Mr. Butler as the Water Supply Operator for the District. Mr. Jumps has talked with Mr. Mike Huskey and he is willing to do the required monthly testing for the District on a temporary basis until a full or part time Water Supply Operator is hired. Mr. Jumps has also talked with Mr. Ron Lada, present meter reader for the District and he is willing to do the daily checks at the water tower and pump stations and the weekly readings at the master meter, change the disks on the recorders weekly and some of the smaller work orders that need to be taken care of as they arise. Mr. Jumps asked for a motion to be able to pay these two men for the work that they will be doing for the district to keep the district running smoothly. Mr. Betts made a motion to give Mr. Jumps, Acting Chairman, the authority to employ Mr. Huskey and Mr. Lada on a temporary basis to keep the district within the law and operating for the public and Mr. Vincent seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Ms. Hutcheson – no, Mrs. Youngblood – yes, Mr. Betts – yes, Mr. Vicent – yes, Mr. Hollister – yes, Mr. Jumps – yes. There being 5 yes and 1 no votes, the motion passes. Mrs. Youngblood asked how much Mr. Huskey and Mr. Lada would be paid. Mr. Jumps stated that Mr. Huskey has not said how much he would charge, but that before Mr. Butler had received his WSO License, that Mr. Coleman from Cobden charged $50 a month for the testing and that Mr. Lada would be offered the same pay rate at Mr. Butler had been paid. Mr. Jumps also stated that an ad would be placed in the paper for a full or part time WSO.
The emergency meeting was adjourned by motion of Mr. Betts and seconded by Mrs. Youngblood at approximately 12:05 pm.
