Meeting Minutes of September 12, 2000
Chairman Richard Jumps called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. A roll call was taken and present were: Chairman Richard Jumps, Vice Chairman Daniel Cook and Trustees Debbie Wheetley and Mike Starling. Also present was employee Karen Dunn. Absent were Trustee Ed Betts and employee Ron Lada.
There was no visitors present.
The meeting began with review of the minutes from the August 2000 meeting. A motion was made by Mr. Starling to accept the minutes as presented. Seconded by Mrs. Wheetley and with 4 yes and 0 no votes, the minutes were approved.
No other visitor or customer requests were presented at this time.
The only item of communications presented was the Financial Report for July 2000 prepared by Kemper CPA Group. The Trustees briefly reviewed the financials and no discussion followed.
The first topic of New Business was the offer made by the Village of Makanda to tar and chip from Wiley Lane to the Water District Gates at a cost to the District of $200.00, including the parking area. Also discussed was the need for a culvert for drainage under the same section of road and a proposal from Wheetley Construction at $450.00 for the work. A motion was made by Vice Chairman Cook to tar and chip the road and install the culvert as indicted above and at the proposed costs. Seconded by Mr. Starling and with 4 yes and 0 no votes, the motion carried.
Old Business briefly touched upon was construction by the Village of the intersection by the Village on the intersection at McGuire and South Poplar Camp Road. It was noted that, to date, the project was on hold awaiting the contractor’s availability.
The annual statement of revenue and expenses of the South Highway Water District was passed around for the Board Members to review.
The Secretary/Treasurer Report was presented by Karen Dunn along with the Accounts Payable Report detailing bills for payment in September. A motion was made by Vice Chairman Cook to accept the Secretary Report and pay the bills as presented. Seconded by Mrs. Wheetley and with 4 yes and 0 no votes, the motion carried.
The Water Supply Operator Report was presented by Ron Lada indicated no major problems or discrepancies. It was noted that lead and copper testing bottles would be delivered on September 12th and samples taken by the designated customers on September 13th. TTHM sampling is scheduled for September 19th.
There were no additional public comments or questions.
No ordinances were reviewed at this time.
There being no further business, the motion was made by Vice Chairman Cook for adjournment. Seconded by Mrs. Wheetley and with 4 yes and 0 no votes, the meeting was adjourned.
