Meeting Minutes of January 13, 1981
Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:14 p.m. by chairman W. Brieschke. At roll call the following members were present: B. Schauwecker, R. Jackson, D. Mayer, and W. Brieschke. Absent: J. Simpson.
Minutes and financial report were accepted and approved. Bills were presented totaling $2,007.92. This total includes the two bills presented at the meeting time. Motion by R. Jackson seconded by D. Mayer that bills be paid. Roll call: all members present voted yeas. 4 yeas 1 absent.
Unverified taps: #125(95) and (104A)(174a) – Old McGuire’s barn still need to be located. The extra tap on John Hawkins property put in by mistake by contractors and/or engineers has no user contract and will be kept on location for district purposes in the future. The tap is numbers 193A for recording purposes. Former number was 9B.
Maintenance Report – filed.
Maintenance operator was informed that a Water Meter Equipment Maintenance Seminar is being offered at John A. Logan College on February 12, 1981. Maintenance Operator informed the board he is interested in attending. Motion by B. Schauwecker, seconded by Jackson that the district pay the seminar fee of $7.50. Roll call: all members present votes yeas. 4 yeas and 1 absent.
Approval of payroll increase for Secretary/Treasurer, Maintenance Operator and compensation for chairman as budgeted for the FY 1981. Motion by B. Schauwecker, seconded by D. Mayer to approve increases in the salaries of the Secretary/Treasurer from $250 to $300 (20%), Maintenance Operator from $290 to $380 (31%), and chairman from water consumption reimbursement to $25.00 a month. Roll call: all members present votes yeas. 4 yeas and 1 absent.
Water Rate Study: Chairman informed board that Dycus, Schmidt and Bradley offered to do the study for $300. Tabled until next meeting.
Revision of Chapter 3 up for final approval. Tabled for further study by Board members.
Discussion of feasibility of investing the reserve and depreciation monies. Motion by R. Jackson., second by D. Mayer that the board invest $5,000 of the depreciation account monies at 12% interest on a 30 month certificate with Home Federal Savings and Loan. Roll call vote: B. Schauwecker – abstain, D. Mayer – yea, R. Jackson – yea, W. Brieschke – yea. 3 yeas, 1 abstain, absent.
Correspondence and announcements: Letter from attorney read and filed. Court date: March 9, 1981, 9 a.m. Response to FHA discrimination ad – filed.
Motion by B. Schauwecker, seconded by R. Jackson that meeting be adjourned. Vote: all members present voted yeas, 1 absent. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
