Meeting Minutes of July 10, 1980
Regular meeting of the Buncombe Public Water district Board was called to order at 7:25 p.m. by Chairman W. Brieschke. At roll call the following members were present: Hastings, Jackson, Schauwecker, and Brieschke. Absent: Hawkins, Simpson, and McCleland.
Minutes and financial reports were accepted and approved. Bills were presented followed by a motion by Hastings, seconded by Schauwecker that bills be paid as the money is available. Roll call vote: all members present voted yeas, three absent.
Topo map report: working on it.
Maintenance Report: Nannie reported on repairs made at pump station. Informed Board that the pump stations need to have add-a-phase rewired according to code. Discussion on what needs to be done at pump station with Nannie and Brieschke informing the board of procedures, mechanics, etc. followed by a motion by Jackson and seconded by Hastings that pump station add-a-phase required. On roll call, all members present voted yeas, three absent.
Discussion on the possibility of master meter not working/registering properly might be part of the cause of our high water loss. Nannie was asked to read the master meter twice a week for a while, chart the readings until we can establish a pattern.
Illegal taps: Not too many more need verification.
Board went into executive session.
Cobden Committee report and Contract Negotiations Committee: Still talking with members of South Highway Water District.
Ordinance Committee report: members going over changes separately and will meet later to formalize findings, additions , deletions, etc.
Court Hearing postponed until July 29.
Motion by Hastings, seconded by Schauwecker that meeting be adjourned. Vote all members present voted yeas, three absent. Meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
